A probable probate record identifies Joseph Chapman who died 02 April 1890 at Grahamstown Asylum. His birth place and parent’s names are unknown but he is recorded as age 40 suggesting a birth year of about 1850. He was a “compositor” (i.e., printer) by profession and married to Helen Chapman of South Street, Grahamstown. No children are identified in the record.
