  Leonard Howard Maddicks [sic.] married Josephine Mace on 9th Nov 1904 in Queensland, Australia (Reference: 1904/000798; www.familyhistory.bdm.qld.gov.au). They had no children. In 1938, Josephine was granted a divorce (an “order nisi”) on the grounds of desertion. She stated that her husband had left her in January 1925 (The Courier-Mail (Brisbane, Queensland), published 10 Sep 1938, Page: 10). Electoral Rolls for Kelvin Grove, Brisbane, Australia suggest that he was living with Mary Elizabeth Furmidge from at least 1934 (or before). They were living at 40, Victoria Street, Red Hill (Kelvin Grove, Brisbane) at this time of his death in 1939 (Electoral Roll transcripts accessed on www.findmypast.co.uk). He is buried at Toowong Cemetery, Brisbane, Queensland, Australia (Find a Grave database and images, Memorial ID: 204898466, Plot: 10-7-6, unmarked grave).
