The 1939 Register gives Vera’s date of birth as 09 April 1886. Her birth registration and parish baptism records confirm her date of birth as 09 April 1885. The Register also indicates that Vera re-married, changing her surname to Gabell. The marriage presumably took place after the death of John Harris Furmedge in 1943, however there is no entry in the GRO Marriage Index for Vera Furmedge. An entry in the National Probate Calendars 1948 for Vera Gabell (d. 14 Dec 1947) suggests her husband was Richard Henry Leigh Gabell. An entry in the GRO Marriage Index shows Richard H L Gabell married Vera Turmedge [sic.] in 1945.
