Bernard Furmedge was born 1902 in Liverpool, England. He joined the merchant navy in about 1923 and there are records for him in 1925 and 1926. He is not named as a surviving child in his father's obituary in 1951 but it is unknown what happened to him after 1926 and when he died.

Olivena Furmedge was born 1855 on Jersey, Channel Islands. She is recorded in the 1861 and 1871 Channel Island Census with her parents but no further record can be found for her after 1871. Did she marry? When did she die?

The 1921 census entry for Lyne & Jane Furmidge shows that they had an adopted son born about 1919, whose parents had died. His first name has been over-written and can't be deciphered and he doesn't seem to be with them in the 1939 Register. Who was he? What happened to him?
