  Leslie Thomas P. Harwood was the first vicar of St Luke’s church, Ruckholt Road, Leyton which was opened in 1901 as a, Anglican mission church. In the 1940’s he was appointed to a living in Nottinghamshire, and it was in that county that Leslie re-married in 1946 to Barbara Joy Emery (1927-1996).
