The birth certificate for the second born child of William Aiken and Clara Furmage records a birth date of 22 March 1890. The child’s name is not a required element on the form, only the gender is recorded. Later records, such as U.S. World War I and II Draft Registration Cards and George’s burial plaque, record his date of birth as 21 (not 22) March 1890.
