| Notes |
- Frances’ death certificate records her surname as Furmage. She died at the Workhouse Infirmary on Princes Street, St George in the East, London and is described as a “Charwoman of 4, Matilda Street”. The informant on the certificate is the resident medical practitioner. There is no indication of her marital status (usually for a married woman the certificate would state her husband’s details in the occupation section, however that is not the case here) or details of any family. However, 4 Matilda Street is the address given on the parish marriage record for both William Henry Furmedge and Frances Barker. Also, Mary Kitchener witnessed the marriage in July 1882 and there is a Mary Kitchener living at 4, Matilda Street, St George in the East, London in the 1881 England census (Class: RG11, Piece: 451, Folio: 97, Page: 27). It has therefore been concluded that the death certificate is for Frances Barker who married William Henry Furmedge in 1882.
