• Notes

  The last will and testament of Joseph (otherwise Joseph Woodrow) Furmedge, Farmer of Campdown, St Austell, Cornwall was made 17th October 1891 with his nephew, Charles Woodrow Hill, as sole executor. Bequests were: (1) Joseph’s two-thirds of a leasehold tenement in Campdown including farm stock to his sister, Louisa Jane Hill, the wife of George Hill [these two-thirds were inherited from his father, Louisa had inherited one-third from her father]; (2) Land leased from the Proprietors of Charlestown and a leasehold house to his nephew, Charles Woodrow Hill; (3) George Hill (husband of Louisa), the house in which he lived and 10 shillings per week only if he outlived his wife; (4) other personal effects to his nephews and nieces (the children of Louisa and George Hill). The will was witnessed by Edward [Kissell] and John Williams and probate was granted on 16th January 1896.
