| Notes |
- Bertha’s husband James Furmedge was a prisoner of war from 30th April 1941 until 1945. It is possible that she was informed or assumed that he had been killed because in July 1941 she appears to have married a Norwegian, [Living] Isachsen; whom she married a second time in June 1953, following the dissolution of her first marriage.
On 21 Feb 1956, a Mrs B M Isachsen (born 14 Nov 1916 and living at 53, Plymouth Street, Southsea, Portsmouth) travelled to Sydney, New South Wales, Australia, with two children born in 1941 and 1943. Both her’s and the children’s nationality is entered as Norwegian. Their intention was to reside in Australia.
