- Richard Furmedge was an ordinary seaman aboard the S.S. Mardinian (Liverpool), a merchant ship, when he was “lost at sea through enemy action”. He is commemorated at the Tower Hill Memorial, Trinity Square Gardens, London, England. This memorial commemorates seamen, sailors and fishermen of the First and Second World Wars who have no known grave.
