- The Newark Advertiser, published 18th June 1947, reports on the death of Ellen (“Nellie”) Furmidge: She was the second daughter of the late Mr Gray, farmer, of Skegby and had been an invalid for many years and for the past 13 years bed-ridden. Her husband, John Furmidge, had shown his wife deep devotion and given her unfailing help and attention through-out all these years.
