  • Notes 
    • Lance Corporal James Samuel Furmidge was wounded and taken prisoner at Spoil Bank on 26th April 1918; he was a member of the 13th Royal Sussex Battalion, ‘A’ Company (Reference: PA 37595, Prisoners of the First World War ICRC Historical Archives).
      He lived in Harby, Leicestershire all of his life, was a cricketer, bell-ringer, sang in the Choir and was also a church councillor. He worked as a clerk at the Eastwell Ironstone Company. (Melton Mowbray Times, published 11th September 1953).
