Tabitha’s surname is recorded as Furmadge in the GRO Birth Index. Only a transcription of her baptism record has been located to date and the surname has been recorded as “FURNEDGE?”. The details in the baptism record (parents names, occupation and location) are consistent with these records being correctly assigned despite the variation in surname spelling. Tabitha appears in the 1851 and 1861 England Census as the daughter of William and Amy Furmedge.
