The GRO Marriage Index records him as James Thomas Furmaidge.
James’ Royal Navy Service record gives his date of birth as 20 June 1884. As his birth was registered Jul-Sep 1885 it has been assumed that the year is in error but that the day / month are correct. He joined the Royal Navy on 02 July 1902 and was invalided out (due to tuberculosis) on 05 April 1906. His cause of death is recorded as phthisis (i.e. pulmonary tuberculosis).
