- Mary Culverwell is believed to be the daughter of Adam and Prudence Culverwell. Her father, Adam, died about 1804 and in his will, proved 19 May 1804, he names Mary Furmage (exact spelling “ffurmage”) amongst his daughters (PROB 11/1408/275, The National Archives).
A potential burial record for Mary also spells her surname “Furmage”. It records that she died at Musbury, Devon aged 56 years. Whilst there is no direct evidence confirming that the Mary Furmage buried 1820 is also the Mary Furmidge, wife of John Furmidge, this is the most likely record for her burial in Musbury, Devon.
