- There are two baptism register entries for a Robert Furmidge son of John and Mary Furmidge at Musbury, Devon. As no burial record has been entered for a Robert Furmidge buried prior to the second baptism, resulting in a second child being given the same name, it has been assumed that both baptisms relate to the same child. There is no indication in the records to explain a second baptism, for example, the first baptism being performed at the parents’ home and the second in church.
