• Notes

  Florence has possibly been identified in the 1939 Register as a patient at the Maternity Hospital, Bushey, Hertfordshire; she gave birth to a son who was registered in the GRO Birth Index in Oct-Dec 1939 in the Watford, Hertfordshire registration district (the 1939 Register was taken on 29 September). There are a couple of discrepancies: firstly Florence’s date of birth is recorded in the 1939 Register as 18 April 1903 (not 1904) and secondly, her maiden-name is recorded as “Furmedge” (not Furmage) in the 1939 GRO Birth Index entry for her son. The GRO Death Index entry for Florence confirms her date of birth as 18 April 1904.
