  • Notes 
    • Jane’s parents have erroneously been recorded as Henry and Caroline Stockley in the baptism register. A written note has subsequently been added in the top margin of the register “I find by reference to the Marriage Register that the parents of this child in [entry] number 219 were named Henry and Caroline Furmage and not Stockley and were married Aug 7, 1843.”

      In 1881, Jane appears to have married James Ozzard Stockley, her previous husband William Burgess having died earlier in the year. The marriage register entry, however, records her father as Joseph (not Henry) Furmage.

      Jane continued to live at West Mills, Corfe Castle until her death in 1912. She is recorded as Jane Ozzard Stockley in both the GRO Death Index and parish burial register however whilst the former records her age (correctly) as 67 years old, the burial register records it as 57 years old.
