  • Notes 
    • Albert Edward Barefield joined the militia (4th Battalion Oxfordshire Light Infantry) on 06 November 1893 and then transferred to the King’s Own Scottish Borderers on 04 January 1894. He served in South Africa between 04 January 1900 and 01 September 1902. He was discharged 03 January 1906 but re-joined in 1915. He served in France with the British Expeditionary Force from 21 July 1916 but it is unclear from the records (part of the ‘burnt’ series) when he was discharged.
