| Notes |
- Daniel Heyslip (or Hayslip) enlisted in the 1st Battalion of the 2nd Regiment of Foot (Queen’s Royal), Service Number 2815; he served as a Corporal probably in the Hong Kong area and was awarded the Second China War Medal. He appears to have returned from Hong Kong in 1861. At his death in 1865 he is recorded as a Sergeant in the 2nd Foot Regiment. He died of bronchitis. (The National Archives, WO 100/41_1 & WO 12/2068).
