- Daniel and his wife Jane are not enumerated together in any census between 1841 and their respective deaths. Daniel resides in Bloxworth, Dorset whilst Jane is in service in locations near Tiverton, Devon; both are recorded as married. In 1851, Daniel is enumerated with two daughters, the birth records for whom record their parents as Daniel Furmage and Mary Davis. As Mary is not recorded as ‘Mary Davis’ rather than ‘Mary Furmage formerly Davis’ it suggests that Daniel and Mary were not married. This is supported by their children’s baptism entries which record Mary Davis as a spinster.
