- The 1939 Register records Annie’s date of birth as 15 December 1862; her GRO Birth Index and baptism entries suggest that she was actually born on 15 December 1859.
An inquest was held on the death of Annie in June 1953 at Westwood Nursing Home. It was concluded that she had died of natural causes (myocardial degeneration and senility) accelerated by shock following a fall on 17th May in which she had fractured her femur (Coroner’s Expense Report, 13 June 1953, transcript accessed on the Isle of Wight Family History Society website).
