    • John Furmage died in the Clydebank Blitz, two nights of air raids by the German Luftwaffe on the ship-building and munition-making town of Clydebank, Scotland. A commemorative memorial to those who died (naming 528 identified casualties) is located in Dalnottar Cemetery, Clydebank.
