  Annie Maria’s date of birth is recorded as 14 July 1860 on her gravestone (Glenwood Cemetery, Section B, Lot 53, Site 9) however on the 1860 US Federal Census, taken on 25 July 1860, she is recorded as 1 years old whereas the instructions were to record infants less than one year old in fractions of months, e.g., 1/12 would be one month old. This suggests that she was in fact born in 1859. Births were not officially recorded in Washington, D.C., until after 1874 and no baptism record has been found to date.
