  An entry could not be found for Amelia Jane in the General Register Office Consular Birth Indices however there are two entries for Lucy Mary Furmage, one of which, for the year range 1871-75, appears to have been added later into the index as it has been squeezed in between two existing entries. The second entry for Lucy Mary is in the 1876-80 year range. It seems plausible that the first entry for Lucy Mary in the 1871-75 year range may in fact be for Amelia Jane. Note: there was no strict time limit on when births had to be registered with the consulate and they could be registered years after the event.
