Although his name is recorded as Chrisostomes Elisavites in the marriage record transcript, his wife’s parents’ obituaries indicate that she was known as Mrs Nickles. This name change is supported by his wife’s grave memorial: “Elizabeth Annie Nickles Nee Furmedge 5.8.1900 - 29.6.1970 Wife of Christopher Nickles” and also his own memorial: “Christopher Nickles… Born as Chrisostomos Elisavites in Kokkari, Samos, Greece … Husband of Elizabeth Annie Furmedge…”.
