  Initial research suggests that Ann Furmedge was Charles’ second wife. He first married Ann Amelia Grant in 1849 and she died in 1881. On his marriage to Ann Furmedge, Charles states that he was a widower. Following Ann’s death, he may have re-married in 1887, to Emma Cole.
